Monthly plans bill on the same day each month starting on signup. Yearly plans bill once and renew annually. Both save you money - yearly saves 20%, and neither has lock-in (cancel anytime for a pro-rated refund on yearly).

Panel → Billing → Change Plan. Upgrades happen live with no downtime, and you're pro-rated - you pay the difference for the remaining billing period. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
