What gets backed up on GTA 6 servers

Backups include everything: server files, mods, configs, database, uploaded assets, logs. The only files we don't back up are the local client data of your players. Everything is compressed - most servers will compress down to about 60% of their raw size. All backups are stored on infrastructure separate from your game server, so an issue on one will not affect the other.

Recovering from a bad update

Broke a mod? Accidentally deleted an important file? Launch the backup manager, select the snapshot prior to your error, press restore. Server restores in less than 90 seconds. Players automatically reconnect. If you only need to roll back 1 resource, the GTA 6 mod version history is quicker. Restore that 1 resource and don't disturb anything else.

Surgical restores when you do not want to lose everything

Don't want to roll back the entire server, just want to restore one database table? Backup manager > Browse > navigate to table > "restore this table". Everything else stays in its current state. Great for when a dupe bug slips through and you want to roll back one transaction without deleting a Saturday of RP scenes.

How often do you back up my GTA 6 server?

Daily (Starter), 4x daily (Professional), hourly (Advanced), and real-time every 15 min (Enterprise). Higher plans include faster granular restores as well.

Can I restore just one database table without losing the rest?

Yes. With granular restore you can select individual files or database tables to restore. No need to roll back everything else. Roll back your bank table duplicate glitch without destroying your players' inventories.

How long are backups kept?

Retention of 30 days on every plan. Point-in-time restore to any snapshot within that retention window. Enterprise tier plans can increase retention on request.

Where are the backups stored?

Offsite (in a different datacenter from your game server). If there's a regional failure at the game server site, your backups are safe. Encrypted at rest and replicated across availability zones.

Can I download my backups?

Yes. You can export any snapshot as a ZIP file for compliance, migration purposes or for your own offsite storage needs. Entire file tree or selected directories.

What happens during a restore operation?

Server momentarily enters "restoring" mode, files/tables are overwritten, and server is restarted. Full restore takes 30-90 seconds. Granular restore takes a few seconds. Players are automatically reconnected once the server is ready.
